M.A.R.S. (Machinedrum Remix) | XLR8R
Scuba "M.A.R.S. (Machinedrum Remix)"
As luck would have it, we're able to bring you the premiere of the atmospheric Machinedum (pictured above) remix of "M.A.R.S." by DJ/producer/Hotflush label head Scuba on the same day we review his awesome new mix album for the DJ-Kicks series. The original tune, which can be found only on that record, is described as a "deep, house-esque" highlight of the producer's mix, and while this remix does have a certain amount of deepness to it, the track as a whole is more in line with the skittering-but-airy juke-isms Machinedrum shared on his 2011 album, Room(s).

Partys Over Los Angeles (Jon Convex Remix) | XLR8R
ZZT "Partys Over Los Angeles (Jon Convex Remix)"
The City of Angels is the next stop for Tiga side-project ZZT, whose first LP, Partys Over Earth, will be released on November 7 via the Turbo imprint. "Partys Over Los Angeles" is the album's second single, and this remix from UK producer Jon Convex (pictured above) finds the Canadian man-diva getting upstaged by Convex—who also happens to be one half of Instra:mental—as the low-end- and vintage-electro-loving beatmaker smelts the hyperactive original in a crucible of vintage bass. The "Partys Over Los Angeles" single also includes reworks from Duke Dumont and TWR 72, and will be released on October 25.

RA News: Jesse Rose compiles Made For The Night
Born in the UK but now based in California (following a stint in Berlin), Rose is a house DJ and producer who runs a handful of labels (Made To Play, Play It Down, Front Room Recordings). Made For The Night is his new label and compilation series, which aims to show both sides of a given artist's sound—inside the club and outside the club. The first disc is a mix CD that takes what Rose might play over the course of a long party and condenses it into an hour. The second collects some of his favorite productions, remixes and edits from the past 10 years, including a new rework of Hot Chip's "Build a House."
